Overview

KDW Construction embraces a safety culture that originates with the Leadership Team and resonates to each employee. At KDW we use a system of preplanning, training and risk management to assist in the ultimate goal of sending our employees home safe at the end of every workday.

Our proactive approach to safety includes the following:

Maintaining a Drug Free Work Environment

Toolbox Talks are required weekly on all jobsites to reinforce safety basics and highlight specific hazards in the workplace

Pre-Task Planning – specific per jobsite to including but not limited to:
• Define Scope of Work
• Analyze Jobsite Hazards and Develop Hazard Controls
• Enhance Safety, Productivity and Efficiency

Additional safety training: OSHA 10, OSHA 30, CPR & First Aid, Hazwoper 40 Hour, Competent Person, Covid-19 Prevention Policy, among others.

Our safety department is comprised of our Owner, Safety Coordinator, General Superintendent, Project Superintendents, Project Managers and various project foremen with decades of combined safety experience. KDW has also teamed up with Safety Compliance Management, Inc. to further ensure our teams safety and compliance. KDW’s company safety policies and procedures are audited annually and as needed due to the current climate. Revisions are made in compliance with any changes in State, Local and Federal regulatory standards and to institute Best Managed Practices shared and utilized in our industry.

The effectiveness of KDW’s Safety Program is reflected in our current EMR of .79, which is well below industry standard.
